With the dedicated and innovative partnership of the MassHire Metro North Workforce Board, Breaktime has officially launched in the Metro North region–our first step towards statewide expansion. Through Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Youth funding and a YouthWorks grant, the MassHire Metro North Workforce Board is both investing financially in Breaktime’s work and also connecting us with key partners throughout the Metro North region. The Metro North region includes Cambridge, Somerville, Everett, Chelsea, and 16 other municipalities north of Boston. Governmental and quasi-governmental agencies are absolutely essential partners in breaking the cycle of young adult homelessness.
